Surveys Australia was contracted by Tenix SDL to carry out all survey services on the Rio Tinto operated Argyle Underground development project to execute the construction and installation of two underground crushers, 1.2 kilometres of conveyors, dewatering pump stations, gantry cranes, associated fabricated materials, as well as piping, electrical, instrumentation and control equipment. All works carried out were located underground and Surveys Australia was on site from project commencement in 2011 until Rio Tinto’s unexpected early termination of the project in 2013.
Surveys Australia Pty Ltd was awarded a contract by Laing O’Rourke to fulfil all Survey Services required by Laing O’Rourke to execute their awarded works by Chevron for the Gorgon Project. Awarded works comprise of:
- the construction of on-site utilities infrastructure, including a new desalination plant
- new waste water treatment plant
- relocation of an existing water treatment facility
- new diesel power station and associated utility corridor and connection
Surveys Australia have been mobilised to Barrow Island since 2011 and are currently still assisting Laing O’Rourke on a full time basis on Barrow Island with their Survey requirements in February 2015.
